Want Change? Start Within

As I’ve mentioned before, I love New Years Resolutions. Not because they have a great reputation of being successful (they don’t), but because I love the idea of dreaming big & going after the goals that matter most.

That being said, I’ve noticed that we tend to get infatuated with the idea of external change, while minimizing the reality of what said change will demand of us, internally. We get a bit lost dreaming about finding the love of our lives, landing that dream job, or saving x amount of money. However, the challenge is that we sometimes forget that in order for these external changes to come to fruition, we ourselves need to change.

This is the really hard part, which is why we can almost disassociate from the reality that real change demands real work. When we’re lost in the fantasy of what a changed life could look like, we gloss over the fact that change is hard. Why? Because change demands that we uproot the behaviours that do not benefit us. We have to break addictions. Address decades of unhealthy habits. Confront toxic tendencies.

So, yes. Dream big. Name your goals. Create your vision board. But then, take inventory of what needs to change within you - so that you can truly give yourself the best chance of creating external change. Remember - the only agent of change that you can control is you. And as always, we are happy & honoured to support you at any point in your journey.

Wishing you a healthy, happy & meaningful 2024.
