How can I book a session?

Appointments can be booked by phone or email. Email us at torontowellnesscounselling@gmail.com, or fill out the form on our Contact Us page and a Toronto Wellness Counselling representative will get back to you shortly.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments can be cancelled without incurring a fee if you notify us at least 24 hours before your session. Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, except in the case of medical or personal emergencies.

What does the therapy process look like?

First, you will submit a request to connect with a therapist. Based on the information you provide, we will recommend a therapist to connect with. Then, if you’d like, you can schedule a 10 to 15-minute phone consultation to ensure it’s a good fit. From there, you will participate in a holistic intake session with your therapist where they will assess your strengths, discuss the areas you would like to work on, and identify key goals. Finally, your therapist will implement evidence-based strategies to help you work towards your unique goals.

What if I don't like my therapist?

Toronto Wellness Counselling prides itself on offering customized counselling services, matching each client with a therapist who can meet their unique needs. However, if you feel that you and your therapist aren’t a good fit, kindly let us know and we will gladly pair you with a new therapist.

Do I need a referral?

No professional referral is required to book an appointment with a Toronto Wellness Counselling therapist. You can refer yourself.

How much does it cost to book a session?

Our fees are in alignment with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Fees range from CAD 140 to 225 per session. This includes prep time before and after your session, as well as note-taking. Please keep in mind that our services are tax-deductible, so always hold onto your receipts!

How do I pay for my session?

All Toronto Wellness Counselling sessions can be paid for via Interac e-transfer or credit card. We accept all major credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

We do offer sliding scale rates, but these spaces are limited. Feel free to inquire further by sending us an email at torontowellnesscounselling@gmail.com.

Can you bill through my insurance provider directly?

Unfortunately, no. After we collect payment, you will be provided with a receipt that you can then use to receive reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Are sessions completely confidential?

Your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance to us. Your personal information will be kept strictly confidential, meaning that no information can be shared with others without explicit consent from you. There are certain exceptions to confidentiality according to Ontario law, which will be fully discussed with you during your first session.

How do I know if you can help me?

The biggest contributor to success in therapy is your relationship with your therapist. This is why we offer phone consultations to ensure you feel safe and comfortable, and are excited to get started on your mental wellness journey with your new therapist.

Does therapy really work?

Absolutely. When paired with the right therapist, research shows that talk therapy can be incredibly helpful in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression and boosting your relationship with yourself and the world around you. In fact, studies have indicated that therapy can be more beneficial in treating mental health issues than medication alone.
